This week is taking a little more than last week because I'm not sure what I want the topic to be. As of now I'm almost decided on Asian culture, more specifically Japanese culture. Probably one of the more interesting cultures to me because it produces a lot of great things, especially when it comes to art.
This weeks track will more than likely have a lot of Asian sounds obviously, sounds such as a Japanese koto, which is a string instrument that is used by native musicians in old japan, I also find use in a gong sound and maybe some martial arts sound affects.
I honestly have absolutely no idea what i want to do for my physical art, I think this week it may be good to start a graphic art because last week was tough trying push my limits with hand drawn art, but we'll see.

With a heavy sigh, i feel good that everything has come together better than I expected. I impressed myself with my hand drawn adaptation of a Japanese Samurai mask. I chose Japanese culture for week two of the project and that's where I came up with the idea for the mask. The idea was to create half the mask and then digitally create BUT I fell in love with the pencil and paper drawing, so I left it be.
Since I decided not to use the samurai mask for my digital art I decided to design something else graphically. I started with the large red dot symbolizing the Japanese flag and from there my ideas just started to flow, next came the bamboo in the background, then the red sun rays from the dot. During this, one of my favorite adult cartoons popped in my head, "Afro Samurai" and i decided that was the character for the drawing, everything else fell into place as the days passed.
The music aspect of this week came quite natural, I just used sounds that reminded me of a martial arts movie, theres a part of the beat that mimics the moment in the movie where two are about to fight, perfectly.
I will admit the art from this week was much better than last week but the music isn't as good, gotta keep it real with myself above all.
